Meet our Tutors

Barbara Chauvet 🇫🇷

Barbara moved from France to Canada in 2019 and has been a full-time tutor since. She founded Je Parle French in order to address the growing demand for French tutoring and share her experience and love for the job with newer tutors.

With 10 years of experience in French tutoring, Barbara has gained the experience to teach all levels and created learning programs and material to help her students in their language journey.

Barbara teaches the following classes: 
- Exam preparation (TEF/TCF, DELF/DALF, AP French, SLE)

- Online private lessons (kids and adults)

- Online group lessons

- In-person group lessons (Victoria only)

Alexandra Kardas 🇫🇷

Alexandra was born in France and moved to Canada in September 2020, after living and traveling in different countries. Through French tutoring she helps students improving and being more comfortable with their French language skills. She is also a yoga teacher and wellness practitioner and loves being of service to others and empower individuals.

Alex teaches the following lessons:

Leïla Rochdi  🇫🇷

Leïla was born in Rennes, France, and moved to Canada in 2024. She has spent one year in Australia, 5 years in New Caledonia, 1 year in New Zealand, and a few months here and there around the world. In return, she loves sharing her own culture and language.

A Chemical Engineer by profession, Leila started working as a full-time Maths, Physics, and Chemistry teacher in New Caledonia. She has always had a passion for teaching and has been involved in private French tutoring for 20 years. Leila is known for her ability to adapt her teaching to meet the unique needs of each student, providing personalized lessons tailored to their learning style and requirements.

During her free time, Leila loves being outdoors, engaging in activities such as mountain biking, hiking, yoga and acroyoga, scuba diving, and kitesurfing.

Leïla offers the following lessons:

Marianne Ollitrault 🇫🇷

Marianne moved to the West Coast in 2021. She started her career working for the French diplomacy, where she developed her communication skills and cultural expertise. 

With over 10 years of tutoring experience, Marianne is passionate about helping others learn. She enjoys sharing her love for the French language everyday. She is also involved in theatre and loves the performing arts in all of their forms. 

Marianne​ teaches the following lessons:

- In-person private lessons (Vancouver)
